Current Safety Guidelines
Those who are vaccinated no longer have to wear a mask in worship, although they certainly may. Those who are not yet vaccinated must still wear a mask.
Other things will remain the same to continue to protect those who are not vaccinated. We will continue to sit every other pew and encourage social distancing. We will continue to have a basket for offering in the narthex and to use prepackaged communion available in the narthex. Again, to protect the unvaccinated, we will attempt not to pass things from person to person.
Finally, we will begin singing…a bit. The CDC has not yet said it is safe to sing congregationally yet. In fact, according to the center for congregational singing, we shouldn’t be singing until the country is at 70% vaccinated. Currently, we are only at 41.9% in the US. However, we know we all long for it so much that we’re making accommodations. We will sing the first verse of the two hymns we currently have included, and your are encouraged to sing more quietly than usual. Please get vaccinated and encourage your friends to do so as well so that we can add more hymns back to our order of worship.
